Donald Glover drops new album via live stream and it’s everything fans need during coronavirus pandemic

Donald Glover casually decided to drop his new album via a live stream in the early hours of Sunday morning and, as you can imagine, fans are going wild for it.

The 36-year-old, also known as Childish Gambino, casually released a number of new songs via the link donaldgloverpresents.com.

News of the live stream first came about on Twitter, with people tweeting the link, including some of those from Donald’s management team, reports Hip Hop N More.

Tracks included a collaboration with rapper 21 Savage on song Vibrate, Beautiful, Warlords (a track Donald performed at Coachella), Algorhythm and another collaboration believed to be with SZA.

Fans were quick to react on Twitter, with many praising Donald for giving them the gift they didn’t know they needed during turbulent times of self-isolation, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

One fan tweeted: ‘The world is shut down what do we do? quarantine and dance to @donaldglover’s live stream of the album of the decade @CHADMTAYLOR #COVIDー19#DonaldGlover.’

Another said: ‘Donald Glover dropping his new album via live-stream at 4am is peak social distancing.’

‘Donald Glover dropping an album on live stream right now and can’t help but feel connected to all the other people listening cooped up at home during a pandemic,’ one fan commented.

While one fan was clearly impressed, as they tweeted: ‘Donald Glover dropping an album in the middle of the night. Like literally live streaming a new album while everybody sleep. Just cured everybody of coronavirus.’

The new album live stream comes four years after Donald’s last album release Awaken, My Love in 2016.

Fans did hear the star on The Lion King soundtrack last year, though, as he starred alongside Beyonce in Disney’s live action remake.

Donald voiced Simba, while Beyonce voiced the character of Nala and Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan played Timon and Pumbaa.
