Boris Johnson currently has mild COVID-19 symptoms and led a video conferencing call yesterday morning.

Yesterday, the PM was seen chairing his remote coronavirus meeting after contracting the deadly disease – as it was revealed his response to the crisis was backed by the majority of Brits.

Pollsters from Number Cruncher Politics found 72 per cent of eligible voters were satisfied with his performance.

Meanwhile, half of Labour voters, those voting for other parties and a large majority of undecided voters were also happy with Boris’ leadership.

The government also got similar approval ratings, both overall and on its handling of the Covid-19 outbreak.

However, these ratings could change if Mr Raab falls ill, as there are no further public plans on who would lead the country under the “designated survivor” plan.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak follows Mr Raab in the succession plan and then it falls to Home Secretary Priti Patel.

But one source told The Telegraph: “There isn’t a fixed chain.”

“It depends really on where Boris wants to go.”
