Dominic Calvert-Lewin claims he can score the goals to solve Everton ’s problem No. 9 position.
Everton have lacked a regular marksman since Romelu Lukaku left in 2017 and Calvert-Lewin insists he can be that striker.
The England Under-21 hitman netted both goals in Everton’s Carabao Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday to take his tally to three in his last two appearances and is backing himself to deliver.
“I’m confident I’m going to score more goals now,” he said. “I have got to be up and running now.
“It was only a matter of time before I got my first one. Thankfully that came against Bournemouth and I was happy to get another two against Sheffield Wednesday.

“For me it’s all about scoring goals so I’m hoping to kick on from here.”
Calvert-Lewin’s double on his 100th appearance for Everton since his arrival from Sheffield United in 2016 took his career haul for the Blues to 20.
That is just a one in five strike rate and some Evertonians are sceptical that he can score enough goals to play as a No. 9.
But Calvert-Lewin, 22, believes he will become more prolific as he continues to develop.

He grew up near Hillsborough and said it felt special to score on his return home.
“It felt very good to be honest I have to admit,” said the former Blade. “It was a special moment for me coming back.
“I had a lot of family and friends at the game, some in the Everton end and a lot in the Sheffield Wednesday end.
“For me, having grown up five minutes away from here and playing in the park just over the road, it was a very special moment.
“I’d only ever played at Hillsborough for Sheffield United Under-23s and never in a professional game, so it was a big night for me.”
