Dollface is the Margot Robbie-produced show you'll be hooked on

From her lust-worthy red carpet looks to her countless stand-out performances in pretty much every blockbuster hit, Margot Robbie can do no wrong. And now she’s getting behind the lens to produce Hulu’s forthcoming comedy, Dollface. Yaas!

Created by Jordan Weiss, the 10-episode dark comedy, which will begin production this year, tells the story of a young woman struggling to reconnect with her female friends after her long-term boyfriend dumps her. She “must deal with her own imagination in order to literally and metaphorically re-enter the world of women,” stated the official synopsis for the show.

The female-centric show will see Kat Denning star as lead character, Jules. On her new role, Kat said:
“Reading Jordan’s script was like opening a window into my own brain.” She’ll be joined by Pretty Little Liars’s Shay Mitchell and Secret Obsession’s Brenda Song. Yes queens!

Shay will play the free-spirited college best friend of Brenda’s alter ego, Madison. Shay confirmed the news earlier this week when she posted a screenshot of an article announcing her casting to Instagram stories. “It’s official,” she wrote.

The show is ultimately a celebration of female friendship which is too often presented in a toxic light on TV. As Weiss stated: “The first half of the season is focused on the friendships and Jules’ position in ‘girl world’ even while the ladies are dating.” The theme of female friendships is at the core of the show with few men being cast in the show.

Margot’s husband Tom Ackerley will also be producing the show alongside series creator Jordan Weiss and Clubhouse Pictures’ Bryan Unkeless, Scott Morgan, Nicole King and Stephanie Laing. This is the same team that produced I, Tonya. Kat Dennings will also serve as executive producer.

We’re sold. Are you?

All 10 episodes of the comedy will debut November 15 on Hulu.
