It may be a chilly morning but that isn’t stopping voters heading to the polls as they opened at 7am.
Many are taking their furry friends with them to vote, with Twitter already abuzz with #dogsatpollingstations.
Voting day can be intense, so some light relief with political pooches is very much welcomed.
One Twitter user wrote on Wednesday: “Tomorrow is the big day. The day we have all been waiting for. The hype. The build up. The waiting. Finally. It’s time. For what matters. For Dogs at Polling Stations.”
Dogs are not the only feature at polling stations, so be on the lookout for more unusual visitors like cats and even sheep.
