Dog attack leaves man with life-threatening injuries to face and arm

A man has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being mauled by a dog.

The victim, 50, suffered serious injuries to his face and arm during the attack at Yewdale Gardens in Bolton on Thursday.

An air ambulance and around five police vehicles raced to the scene at around 1.20pm.

A Dog Control Enforcement Unit has been deployed by Bolton Council, reports Manchester Evening News.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said an investigation has been launched.

They said: ‘Officers were called to Yewdale Gardens, Bolton, at about 1.20pm on Thursday 6 May 2021 to reports a man was being attacked by a dog.

‘NWAS and an air ambulance attended and a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries to his arm and face.

‘A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing. The dog has been secured by PetMedics.’
