Doctor Who's Mandip Gill unveils exit rumours ahead of CyberWar finale

In the upcoming final episodes of Doctor Who, Huddersfield-born Jodie Whittaker and the cast are set to fight with the Cybermen in the future as humanity closes in on the brink of extinction.

Many fans are concerned that Mandip Gill’s character, Yasmin, along with Bradley Walsh’s character, Graham, will end up paying the ultimate price.

Mandip has now addressed rumours about her future on the hit BBC programme and admitted that it is surrounded with secrecy.

The 32-year-old actress also claimed that she didn’t know if her character would make another appearance alongside The Time Lord.

Speaking to Radio Times, the actress said: “I’d love to [come back],

Mandip finally addresses rumours about her exit

“But again, because of the secrecy no-one ever knows what’s going on.”

Despite being left in the dark over her future, the actress went on to say should this be her last stint on the show – she will look back on her memories with happiness.

“I’m just happy to have been part of two [series],

The CyberWar finale is across two episodes

“And to have been able to explore Yaz.”

She went on to say: “But I would love to be part of it.”

It was revealed that Mandip’s co-star Tosin Cole had been cast in a major US drama and scenes in the seventh episode of series 12 hinted that his character may be leaving Doctor Who behind.

Series 13 is believed to be filmed in autumn and will be released in 2021.

It’s rumoured that only Jodie Whittaker has signed for series 13

Speaking about the grand finale, Mandip said: “Again it’s a two-parter which is new for us for this series.

“It’s so exciting! I know we say it all the time but it is – even though we filmed it a long time ago.”

However, it was the description for the episodes which sparked concern amongst dedicated fans.

Mandip has said she hopes to return in the future

It read: “The aftermath of the Great CyberWar, The Doctor and friends arrive in the far future intent on protecting the last of the human race from the deadly Cybermen.

“But in the face of such a relentless enemy, has the Doctor put her best friends at risk?

“What terrors lie hiding in the depths of space? And what is Ko Sharmus?”

Game of Thrones stars Ian McElhinney and Patrick O’Kane will make an appearance with Benidorm’s Julie Graham.

Doctor Who airs on Sunday, on BBC One at 7:10pm.
