Doctor Who star David Tennant’s fortune swells to over £3.3million

David Tennant’s two personal companies have grown to be worth more than £3.3million, accounts filed with Companies House this month reveal.

The former Doctor Who star, 49, has appeared in several TV dramas, including the ITV hit Broadchurch, since stepping down as the Time Lord in 2010.

His income also received a big boost from a TV advertising deal with Virgin Media.

The latest accounts for his firm Sandyboy Limited show it has assets worth £3,803,949, which includes a £3million property investment portfolio.

The firm owes creditors almost £1.6million, leaving it with a value of £2,221,907 – up £492,091 on the previous year.

Tennant’s second company, No Mystery Limited, has more than £1.1million in the bank.

The actor, who was born in Bathgate, West Lothian, and brought up in Paisley, is a director of the companies along with his actress wife Georgia Moffett, 35.

They live in west London with their five children.

Sandyboy is thought to be named after Tennant’s father Sandy McDonald, a former Church of Scotland minister who died aged 78 in March 2016.

The company was set up in 2005, the year Tennant took up his role as Doctor Who. He became a massive hit with fans and helped make the BBC show a ratings winner.

Tennant has recently appeared in Amazon Prime fantasy series Good Omens, alongside Michael Sheen, and the Channel 4 drama Deadwater Fell.

He is set to play Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen in an upcoming ITV drama.
