Do you agree with Jackie? KIIS FM star says it okay to ‘smack your kids on the bum’… after a listener called in when her seven-year-old son burned his sister’s hair with a lighter

She’s a doting single mother to her daughter Kitty, eight.

And this week, KIIS FM radio star Jackie O revealed she thinks it’s okay to smack your kids, within reason.

The 44-year-old made the admission during a right or wrong segment on her Kyle and Jackie O radio show.

A listener named Kim called into the show to ask if it’s right that she smacked her seven-year-old son – who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) – after she caught him burning his 18-month-old sister’s hair with a lighter.

‘I think in this situation I can understand why,’ Jackie said.

Kim claimed that she had been judge by her mother-in-law for smacking her young son.

‘You can’t leave a mark, no,’ Jackie said, saying a small smack is enough to discipline a child.

Kyle meanwhile, said he thinks it’s okay to ‘whack’ a child if they’re doing the wrong thing.

‘I believe truly, without any knowledge or opinion of the law, that if your child is setting their sister on fire with a cigarette lighter and burning their hair, totally, you’re allowed to whack them,’ Kyle said.

Kim said she asked a social worker about what is allowed, and was told ‘open hand, below the belt, without force,’ is allowed, which Jackie said she agreed with.

Jackie shares Kitty with her ex-husband, British photographer Lee Henderson.

The pair announced their split in October, having been together for 18 years and married since 2003.

The pair said at the time that their sole focus was on Kitty and providing her ‘love and happiness.’
