Diving World Series: Tom Daley wins 10m platform World Series gold


Tom Daley won gold with dives that included scores of 96.90 and 99.90

Britain’s reigning world champion Tom Daley has won gold in the men’s 10m platform at the World Series in Montreal.

The 24-year-old London 2012 bronze medallist scored 550.05 from six dives.

He beat Yang Jian and Yang Hao, both of China, into silver and bronze position with dives scoring 96.90 and 99.90.

The medal is Britain’s second of the day after two-time Olympic medallist Jack Laugher earlier won silver in the men’s 3m springboard.

The 24-year-old, who also won silver in the discipline at the 2016 Olympics, scored 508.85 points from six dives.

Double world champion Xie Siyi of China secured gold with a total of 537.65, with compatriot Cao Yuan third.

On Friday, Daley and Matty Lee won silver in the men’s 10m synchronised event.
