In the run-up to Disney+ launching in the UK, it’s offering a deal for potential subscribers to sign up for its first year.

An annual subscription will cost £49.99 for users signing up before March 23, working out as £4.17 per month.

That compares to the previously announced price £5.99 per month, or £59.99 for the first year, with the launch now set for March 24.

The streaming platform launched in the US in November last year, with flagship shows including the acclaimed Star Wars spin-off series The Mandalorian.

Existing deals with streaming providers in the UK, such as Sky and its Now TV streaming platform, meant a delay with the UK launch.

Now a huge amount of Disney’s content, from movies to TV shows, will be streamed exclusively on its own platform.

This includes content from the Disney studio, plus Disney-owned properties like Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and National Geographic.

More than 25 ‘Disney+ Originals‘ will be available at launch, from The Mandalorian to documentary series The World According To Jeff Goldblum.

Movies including the Willem Dafoe drama Togo, and the new live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp are also available at launch.

Forthcoming content from Marvel includes the WandaVision series, a ‘sitcom’ featuring Vision and Scarlet Witch, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and the new Loki series with Tom Hiddleston.

Also in development are series based on Star Wars characters Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Ewan McGregor reprising his role as the Jedi Knight, and another based on the adventures of Rogue One’s Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna.
