Dionne Warwick has cancelled a performance in Newcastle tonight after being struck down with a ‘nasty bug’.

The Walk On By singer, 81, was due to take to the stage at the O2 City Hall as part of her She’s Back One More Time tour, however, postponed the set at the eleventh hour.

‘I am so sorry that I won’t be able to perform for you tonight,’ Dionne penned in a statement shared on Twitter.

‘I love being in Newcastle which makes it even more upsetting! But unfortunately, I’ve picked up a nasty bug that just won’t allow me to perform. Take care and I will see you very soon.’

She added: ‘If you’ve purchased a ticket, you will receive an update from your point of purchase shortly.’

Fans immediately rallied around Dionne and flooded her with good wishes.

‘Take care of YOU first! Much love and respect,’ wrote one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘Feel better soon, plenty of rest and relaxation is in order.’
