Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike pick ten huge festival bangers ahead of Tomorrowland Around The World digital festival

DIMITRI VEGAS & LIKE MIKE have blazed an unstoppable path to global domination of the EDM scene, winning the 2019 edition of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, the second time they have won the coveted No.1 DJ’s crown.

With festivals still few and far in between because of the current crisis, the duo are taking to the airwaves this weekend headlining the virtual main stage of Tomorrowland Around The World digital festival on Saturday July 25 alongside Afrojack, Katy Perry, Paul Kalkbrenner, Steve Aoki and more.

The duo also return this week with their remake of one of the best R&B songs of the early 2000s, Destiny’s Child track, ‘Say My name’.

Made in collaboration with Regard, the trio take the iconic R&B anthem down a deeper path and give us a refreshing spin on the Destiny’s Child classic.

We caught up with Dimitri and Mike ahead of the weekend and asked them to talk us through ten festival bangers to get us in the mood.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. Martin Garrix – ‘Tremor’

This track has been a staple of our sets since its release in 2014, and I think has become a bit of a festival anthem across the world. We still see guys playing it at festivals now, so it’s awesome to see that it still resonates.

Dimitri Vegas, MOGUAI & Like Mike – ‘Mammoth’

This track was huge for us. It saw some great chart support but was always designed to be played for big crowds and the response to this day is fantastic. I think that shows in it being voted by fans in the top 3 Tomorrowland anthems of all time.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. Ummet Ozcan – ‘The Hum’

I’d say this is another track that is definitely made to be danced to. The anthemic lead and harmonics in the breakdown have always been well received, and the bass is heavy on this one. We’ve had many special moments dropping this at festivals such as Creamfields, Tomorrowland and EXIT, and no matter where we are this always seems to hit the spot.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – ‘Wakanda’

We’ve always been inspired by tribal style drums and percussion, so it was great to work on this. It has a real groove to the programming, which has always made it a real party starter when we’ve dropped it at festivals.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. VINAI – ‘Louder’

This is another track that was designed to be heard by a big crowd and on huge stages. The vocal really sets this track apart, we can see the energy building towards the drop every time this is played. We built it with this in mind, so it’s really satisfying seeing the response we get from it.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. W&W – ‘Crowd Control’

‘Crowd Control’ is a huge weapon for us. Every time we play it in our sets, we know the response is going to be great. The interactive element plus seeing everybody dancing in unison to this will always stand out for us and is a highlight for us in festival sets still.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dada Life & Tara Mcdonald ‘Tomorrow (Give In To The Night)’

‘Tomorrow (Give In To The Night)’ is our first real festival classic. It was the first official Tomorrowland anthem so to hear fans still mention it shows the level of dedication and loyalty they have for our music, which we’re really grateful for.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Ummet Ozcan & Brennan Heart – ‘Beast (All As One)’

We listen to a huge array of music, and the harder sound has always been one in particular that stood out for us, so it was great to work with these guys. This is a more recent track, but already has been a hit for us during festival sets, and one that will definitely stay in the bag ready to be unleashed when we can hit the festivals again.

Marcel Woods & W&W – ‘Trigger’

We couldn’t leave this one. In 2012 we brought out grandparents on stage and this was one of the biggest tracks we played during our performance that year. Getting to share our performance with them was really special so this track will always have a special place in our hearts.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. Julian Banks & Bassjackers ft. Snoop Dogg – ‘Bounce’

How could we leave this one out as well? We’ve worked with Bassjackers a few times over the years and this track in particular stands out as a classic of our festival sets. This has a more urban feel and the drop is heavy, perfect for the late-night festival slots, and Snoop Dogg’s vocal fit perfectly and just elevated the track.
