Dimitar Berbatov has revealed Paul Pogba caused a stir in his very first Manchester United training session simply because he was so good.
Pogba came through United’s academy before getting his chance in the first team back in 2011. He made just a handful of appearance before leaving for Juventus on a free.
In 2016 the France international was re-signed by Jose Mourinho for a then world record £89million, and is today the star man at Old Trafford.
Berbatov recently spoke out about the midfielder and revealed what he was like in the early days at United.
Berbatov told Betfair: “I remember Paul coming to play with the first team, training with us.
“He was just enjoying being in Manchester and was good friends with the first team and when you’re happy you’re settled.
“He caused a stir in training straightaway. He was tall, athletic, would get the ball from me, intercept it and get on my nerves.
“I knew I had to take this guy seriously because he had something.
“You could see from the beginning that he had technical ability, vision of the game, where to position himself and now you can see the result – he is one of the best in the world.”
