DIMENSION LIVE, his sold out debut live show at London’s prestigious Electric Brixton in October last year was the first immersive, multi-sensory experience in dance music, the show debuted Dimension’s showpiece glass mechanical structure – the centrepiece of a production that included a 50-piece state-of-the-art lighting system, laser walls, the largest ever LED screen to be installed in the venue, pyrotechnics and for the first time in a live music environment, scentology.

Followed closely by his debut BBC Radio One Essential Mix, DIMENSION LIVE capped 12 months that began with the success of ‘Desire’, his collaboration with Sub Focus. Dimension’s new track ‘Saviour’, co-written with Jem Cooke (Camelphat ‘Breathe’) and featuring Sharlene Hector, is the first track to be announced from his forthcoming debut album. The single has so far had over 1 million global streams. The 28 year old UK star celebrated the release of ‘Saviour’ with a special livestream event featuring top of the range production from a secret UK venue.

On the live front, having begun last summer at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Dimension toured worldwide including Australia and New Zealand, North America and a return to Ibiza for another Amnesia residency at Together. Other notable appearances included Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Creamfields, EDC Las Vegas, Audioriver, Dreambeach, and Beats For Love. Further shows will be announced in due course, which will include a headline LIVE show at t Printworks London.

Exclusively for The Sun, Dimension has selected 10 of his biggest records of 2020 so far, featuring The Weeknd, Sub Focus & Wilkinson, Shy FX, Prospa and more.

Dimension – Saviour

This is first single from my debut album. I wanted to keep the fundamental songwriting very simple and allow Sharlene’s incredible vocals to shine through and let the power and energy of drum and bass cary the song forward.

Sub Focus & Wilkinson – Just Hold On

I’ve collaborated with both these pillars of the scene on ‘Rush’ & ‘Desire’. This is the first single from their forthcoming album – a perfect example of how to make non-drum and bass records really work.

Grafix – Stutter

After many years as ‘Fred V & Grafix’, Grafix has been relentlessly injecting the scene with techno and acid inspired tracks that make the dancefloor a cool place to be.

Shy FX – Warning (Bou Remix)

The first time I saw Bou DJ, I knew it was going to be an exciting time for the scene. He has natural groove to his productions and this is another perfect example.

Metrik – Hackers

I’ve never played a set that hasn’t had at least one Metrik record in it. His third album ‘Ex Machina’ just came out and every record sounds enormous. ‘Hackers’ is a masterclass on how to make a fundamentally simple idea massive.

Prospa – Ecstacy

The Leeds duo have been chugging out an incredible array of Neo-90s inspired dance floor tracks, with a look to match. However, ‘Ecstasy’ feels as though it’s the jewel in the crown and has really turned some heads. If you like this, check out ‘Prayer’.

The Weeknd – Blinding Lights

The perfect pop record. It’s cool, moody and ridiculously catchy. Written by Max Martin, who happens to be the most successful songwriter in a generation – this is the biggest hit of 2020 and for good reason.

Dimension & Culture Shock – Love To Give

Long time admirers of each others records, Culture Shock and I finally locked ourselves away in the studio last year. Culture Shock has always been widely admired for his productions as well as his ‘quality over quantity’ ethos, so it was an honour to put out a single with him. Check out the flip ‘Don’t Sleep’ for something harder.

SebastiAn – Run For Me

King of cool, French-Serbian, ‘SebastiAn’ took time out to write records with Frank Ocean, Paul McCartney & Charlotte Gainsbourg. Now he’s back with his new album ’Thirst’. Check out the video for ’Sober’ which was produced by fashion titan ’Saint Laurent’.

Floating Points – Bias

Enviably known for having universally good taste as well as a PhD in neuroscience, Floating Points latest album ‘Crush’ is an amazing listening experience. My pick is ‘Bias’ – a garage record as you’ve never heard it before. It is insanely well crafted, hard hitting and as far as I can tell, created predominantly from the rare and cult synthesis platform Buchla.
