Dignitas Makes Personnel Changes, Names Johansson as New VP of Esports

North American Esports organization Dignitas announced that it has promoted its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Manager Robin “@Fifflaren” Johansson to the position of VP of esports. Additional moves include the promotion of James “Bakery” Baker from Dignitas assistant general manager to director of esports and Heather ‘sapphiRe’ Garozzo has moved into the role of VP of talent, where she will “work closely with Dignitas players and content creators to help their brands grow.”

In January, Dignitas announced that it would be creating a new CS:GO team and brought on Johansson to be the head coach as well as manage the program. A native of Sweden, Johansson played for Ninjas in Pyjamas from 2012 to 2014 where he won multiple tournaments including a CS:GO Major at ESL One: Cologne in 2014.

Garozzo is a four-time world champion CS:GO player who made a name for herself playing with Selfless (2017) and Dignitas’ (2017-Present) women’s squad for whom she still competes when needed. Brought on initially as the company’s director of fan marketing, she then became vice president of marketing before this new appointment.

Additionally, Garozzo is regarded as one of the best broadcast observers in CS:GO, having worked multiple events. Observers look for where the action is inside a video game and while using an in-game camera sends the action to be broadcast.

Baker comes from Heroes of the Storm where he played in the support role for Dignitas before retiring from competitive play in 2017.
