Did you spot what Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk did seconds before his header went in?

Liverpool stunned Bayern Munich in Germany on Wednesday evening, with Sadio Mane netting a brace and Van Dijk hammering home his header in a 3-1 win.

Mane will get the headlines for his remarkable double, however, Van Dijk’s goal, which put the Reds 2-1 up, was vital.

And eagle-eyed fans will have noticed Van Dijk was screaming instructions at his team-mates seconds before his header in the second half.

The Dutch defender seemed to be shouting ‘Mo!’ towards Mohamed Salah, with Van Dijk urging him to take a short corner with James Milner.

However, Milner didn’t play the ball short and whipped in a fine cross, which Van Dijk slammed home.

The former Southampton man leapt above Mats Hummels to put Liverpool 2-1 up at the Allianz Arena.

Mane dominated again, with the Liverpool star netting twice to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Van Dijk was vocal after the game, revealing he knew the Reds would get chances to put Bayern to the sword.

He told BT Sport: “Yeah it was a great evening.

“We knew it was going to be tough.

“We knew we were going to get chances and we’re glad to be in the last eight.”

Van Dijk has been sensational for Liverpool this season, netting five goals in all competitions this season.

Liverpool will join Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, Barcelona, Ajax, Juventus and Porto in the final eight.

The Champions League draw will take place on Friday afternoon.

There are no limitations, so the Premier League big boys can face each other in the quarter-finals.
