Did Marvel drop some secret spoilers in the new 'WandaVision' Super Bowl ad?

Disney+ debuted with The Mandalorian, but now it’s all about Marvel, as the new streaming platform unveils footage of the forthcoming MCU spin-off TV shows.

During last night’s Super Bowl, Disney declared that ‘the universe is expanding’, notably dropping some brief snippets of footage – and possibly some concealed spoilers – from the new WandaVision series.

The show will transplant the characters of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany’s AI android Vision, into the bizarre world of a 50/60/70s-style sitcom.

And while we’re distracted by some of the fashion choices – Vision is wearing a lovely cardigan and tie combination in one scene – it would be easy to miss that Wanda also appears to be pregnant, which brings with it its own questions of how the series will play out.

Even curiouser, one brief shot even appears to show then standing in front of two cribs – so it looks like the couple have twins (and that’s before we even start on the Roseanne-esque outfits).

Whether this is some time-shifting plot line, or an alternate reality situation, we’ll have to wait and see when it arrives later this year.

We also got a glimpse of the new The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson inheriting the Captain America title and shield, and also having a run-in with Daniel Brühl’s Baron Zemo (Sebastian Stan’s Bucky also pitches up too).

Then finally, just as we thought we’d seen it all, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki turns up at the end, in what might be a prison jumpsuit.

“I’m going to burn this place to the ground,” he says.

Phew.

After having launched in the US before Christmas, Disney+ arrives in the UK on 24 March.
