Did Britain’s Got Talent magician John Archer get it wrong? Viewers spot ‘error’ in lottery ticket trick

Britain’s Got Talent viewers have suggested John Archer’s predictive talents might not be so shabby, after spotting something obscure in his lottery ticket trick.

The magician went down a storm with the judges and audience in last night’s (Wednesday 29 May) semi-final, where he conducted a special lottery ticket trick involving hosts Ant and Dec.

At the beginning of his performance, John asked the judges and hosts to pick six numbers between one and 59, choosing 43, 16, 58, 1, 26 and 25.

After a couple of fake-outs with joke lottery tickets, John pulled out what he stated was the right one, with Ant and Dec reading out the correct numbers to much jubilation.

When Dec showed the ticket to camera, however, some viewers noted how the number 16 actually looked like a 6.

They also noted how the raffle displayed on the ticket was discontinued in November 2018, before this ticket was supposedly issued in January 2019.

One viewer wrote: ‘While I really enjoyed John Archer on #BGT, I noticed something wrong with his lottery ticket.

‘The euromillions draw doesn’t take place on Sundays, it should read 01 06, not 01 6, and the raffle stopped in November 2018. He is still getting my vote though.’

Some however pointed out how the missing ‘1’ next to the 6 could have been obscured by the studio lighting – or it could be camera shy, of course.

Despite impressing the judges, John failed to make it through to the final – with singing pensioner Colin Thackery and comedian Kojo Anim going through instead.

Britain’s Got Talent continues on ITV tonight at 7.30pm.
