Dev Griffin: Strictly 2019 star pictured for first time since shock exit with co-stars

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 star Dev Griffin was pictured for first time since his shock exit from the BBC show on social media this morning.

The 34-year-old DJ was eliminated from the ballroom dancing competition along with his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell, 30, following an emotional night.

The couple’s Cha Cha to Dancing With a Stranger by Sam Smith featuring Normani failed to impress the judges on Saturday’s live show and left them in a precarious place near the bottom of the leaderboard.

In a shock elimination shown on Sunday’s results show, the pair were sent home following a dance off with Viscountess Emma Weymouth and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

Taking to Instagram, after the show was aired, Dev spoke of his Strictly experience, telling his 95,200 Instagram followers: “It’s been incredible!”

He continued: “I wish I could have stayed a bit longer but sadly my strictly ride has come to an end.”

During his final moments on the show, he was seen comforting his partner Dianne, who he later described as being “such an amazing partner”.

Brushing the disappointed away, Dev headed out to brunch this morning with his co-stars Michelle Visage, 51, and Alex Scott, 35, to celebrate the former footballer’s birthday.

Sharing picture of the trio on her Instagram account, Alex told her 298,000 followers: “Nice little birthday brunch with these two.”

Posting a similar snap on her own account, in view of her 1.3 million followers, Michelle added: “This @bbcstrictly has brought me some new, true blue friends.”

She continued: “Today we brunched to celebrate @alexscott2 birthday. I love you girl and @dev I am so grateful to have you in my life! CELEBRATE!!!”

Alex and Michelle, who have become firm friends after meeting on the BBC show, headed to a salsa club last night to mark the special day.

Alex Scott and her Strictly partner Neil Jones, 37, were filmed dancing together on their night off.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday at 6.40pm.
