Designated Survivor season four is the news fans of the Kiefer Sutherland-led series everywhere are keen to hear about. Season three of the Netflix Original series has only just been released after being picked up from ABC and already another season of Designated Survivor is being speculated among viewers. Here’s whether or not Netflix has renewed Designated for another series and when fans may be able to expect a season four release date.
Will there be another series of Designated Survivor on Netflix?
Designated Survivor is yet to have been given the green light from Netflix for another series.
Netflix, however, can take up to a few months to announce the renewals of its original content.
The series was picked up by Netflix after US TV network ABC cancelled it after two seasons.
Season four’s status will likely depend on how well the third series does in the coming weeks on Netflix.
When will Designated Survivor season 4 be released on Netflix?
The release date for Designated Survivor season four will likely be announced once the series is renewed.
Netflix does tend to leave a yearly gap between seasons of its original series, however.
Designated Survivor season four could follow and be released sometime in June 2020.
Whether another series will consist of 10 episodes like season three also remains unknown.
As Designated Survivor is now a Netflix Original series, season four won’t be released on the likes of Sky, Hulu or Amazon Prime.
Despite season three only just dropping on the streaming service, a number have fans have called for season four to be announced.
Taking to Twitter, one Designated Survivor fans wrote: “Just finished season four of Designated Survivor. Awesome. When does season four start filming?”
A second agreed: “Designated Survivor season three is so good! We need season four!”
While a third echoed: “Finished season three of Designated Survivor;
“Absolutely love the way the characters have grown with the evolution of this show and new additions to the cast have only made this show better. Season four now please Netflix.”
As fans await news of the series’ renewal, all three seasons of Designated Survivor are available to stream on Netflix.
The synopsis for the series reads: “A lower level United States Cabinet member is suddenly appointed President,
“After a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union kills everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession.”
Season three provides plenty of twists and turns in the story that fans will undoubtedly want to see.
