Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan joked she missed her call up to appear in Gal Gadot’s star-studded Imagine video, so naturally she created her own.

Wonder Woman star Gal decided to enlist the help of her celebrity pals to sing John Lennon’s hit Imagine, after being inspired by a video she saw of an Italian man playing the song on his trumpet.

It featured Gal and a whole host of Hollywood stars. We’re talking Mark Ruffalo, Amy Adams, Will Ferrell, Zoe Kravitz, Natalie Portman, Jamie Dornan…

The list goes on, but nothing is as epic as Nicola’s take on it. Nothing.

We can always count on the Irish actress to give us all the humour we crave, while offering some light relief in times of pandemics and hand sanitising.

Taking to Twitter, Nicola reached out to Gal with her own little, yet epic, take on the video.

She says: ‘Gal, sweetie, I’m so sorry I didn’t get to see you earlier. My assistant did not tell me on time. What an idiot. But, I’m here now and I’m ready.’

Channelling her inner diva in a leopard print furry coat and huge shades, Nicola then croons her way through the chorus.

Until, that is, she starts coughing. Coughing £10 notes, like the baller she is.

Signing off, Nicola says: ‘So sorry, hope that helps babe, hope you solve it.’

Please, Nicola, please, give us the entire song, we beg you.

She wasn’t the only one parodying Gal as the star-studded video, while inspirational still became a meme, as comedian Joe Lycett (sorry Hugo Boss after that name change) roped in the help of his celebrity pals for their own cheeky version.

Joining forces with Noel Fielding, Greg James and Paul Chuckle and Joel Dommett to name a few, they belted out an edited version of Imagine by replacing pretty much every word with b*stard.

Nice.

Gal, meanwhile, had the best intention when dropping her original Imagine post on Instagram.

She was just trying to lift all our spirits and encourage everyone to come together during this coronavirus crisis.

Introducing her video, Gal told fans: ‘These past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical.

‘This virus has affected the entire world, everyone. Doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, we’re all in this together.

‘I ran into this video of this Italian guy playing the trumpet on his balcony to all the other people who are locked inside their homes, and he was playing Imagine and there was something so powerful and pure about this video and it goes like this…’
