Derek Acorah 'returns from the grave' to retweet condolences about his own death


Tributes are pouring in for iconic TV medium Derek Acorah.

The self-styled psychic and Most Haunted star died at the age of 69 after a short illness as revealed in a statement by his beloved wife Gwen Acorah on social media.

Gwen wrote in a heartfelt tribute saying: “Farewell my love! I will miss you forever! I’m devastated to announce that my beloved husband Derek has passed away after a very brief illness.”

Naturally, Derek’s fans have taken to social media to share their love for the star and pay their respects – but the quick sharing of these on his personal Twitter account has led to quite the reaction on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: “Good to see @derek_acorah has already used his initiative and learnt how to use Twitter beyond the grave always knew the guy had a special talent.”

Another added: “Derek Acorah’s personal Twitter account is retweeting condolences from the other side. What a pro.”

Meanwhile, a reply to one of the retweeted messages reads: “He retweeted you from the other side!!”

However, many of the messages have been sharing respect for the veteran TV personality.

One wrote: “Heaven gained an angel. A true gentleman and one of my husband’s dearest friends. My heart goes out to his wonderful wife Gwen and their family. We will love and miss you forever.

Elsewhere, the Celebrity Big Brother star’s friend and fellow paranormal investigator Jimmy Devlin wrote an emotional tribute to his friend.

Devlin tweeted: “From our first day together, I always stood by your side, till our last day. I feel so honoured, privileged and so blessed to have been part of yours and your family’s lives for so many years, but most of all to have been your friend.I will never, ever forget you @derek_acorah

Derek Acorah is survived by his wife Gwen and their two children.
