Demi Moore responds to backlash over 'horrifying' bathroom with carpet and sofa

Horrifying, psycho, disturbing.

These were just a few of the words people used to describe Demi Moore’s bathroom, after a photo of it went viral last week.

The actress shared an innocent snap of her working in the bathroom to promote her new podcast, Dirty Diana.

In the photo, the 57-year-old is seen sitting on a sofa, in a brown carpeted room, working on a laptop.

Behind her there is a sink and a toilet and in a second shot taken from over her shoulder, we see a tiled bath set into the floor and a large statue.

People absolutely lost it when they saw the images and shared their disbelief over her bathroom on Twitter.

Demi’s bathroom went viral

One person wrote: “Refuse to believe this is actually her bathroom.”

Another proclaimed: “The whole set up makes me wince every time I spot something new and even more horrific than the last spot. Fun times.”

Moore has now responded to the backlash, defending the room but admitting the interior design choices weren’t her own.

Speaking to Seth Meyers on Late Night this week, the actress known for roles in Ghost and G.I. Jane, blamed her ex-husband Bruce Willis.

The star blamed Bruce Willis for the interior design choices

She said: “This is the house that my children grew up in, and that was originally a Bruce Willis choice.

“So, not to put it off on him, we also live in the mountains where it gets very cold. So it’s never bothered me. It’s actually quite good we put rugs in our bathroom.”

The star also explained why she was working from her bathroom in the first place, saying: “This couch is not normally in my bathroom. I had to move all that in because, you know, we were doing this podcast… We had to find the place for the best sound.

“What came back is that the bathroom had the best sound.”

Despite people being very harsh about her home, Moore claims she had some “big laughs” over the comments.

She added: “This place definitely houses a lot of my treasures, and I have had some big laughs over the comments with my family, who know me well, of all my eccentricities of small and large.”
