It was a song that was written just days before her attempted suicide attempt in summer 2018 and the lyrics speak of the level of mental suffering and addiction Demi was dealing with.

Introduced by Little Women director, Greta Gerwig, the director said the performance was set to be a reminder to those who are suffering that, “there is light on the other side.”

Stood in a white floor length dress with just a piano to accompany her, Demi had to restart her performance when she broke down in tears.

With tears rolling down her face she bravely restarted as she poured her heart out about her level of suffering it was a strong message about asking for help.

Remaining pitch perfect and powerful throughout Demi Lovato broke down in tears again as she finished the song. The audience rose to their feet in a powerful standing ovation.

Here are the full lyrics of Demi’s latest song. Go Demi!

[Intro]
Uh, uh

[Verse 1]
I tried to talk to my piano
I tried to talk to my guitar
Talked to my imagination
Confided in to alcohol
I tried and tried and tried some more
Told secrets ’til my voice was sore
Tired of empty conversation
‘Cause no one hears me anymore

[Pre-Chorus]
A hundred million stories
And a hundred million songs
I feel stupid when I sing
Nobody’s listening to me
Nobody’s listening
I talked to shooting stars
But they always get it wrong
I feel stupid when I pray
So, why am I praying anyway?
If nobody’s listening

[Chorus]
Anyone, please send me anyone
Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone
Anyone, please send me anyone
Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone

[Verse 2]
I used to crave the world’s attention
I think I cried too many times
I just need some more affection
Anything to get me by

[Pre-Chorus]
A hundred million stories
And a hundred million songs
I feel stupid when I sing
Nobody’s listening to me
Nobody’s listening
I talked to shooting stars
But they always get it wrong
I feel stupid when I pray
Why the fuck am I praying anyway?
If nobody’s listening

[Chorus]
Anyone, please send me anyone
Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone
Anyone, please send me anyone
Oh, Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone
Oh, anyone, I need someone
Oh, anyone, I need someone

[Outro]
A hundred million stories
And a hundred million songs
I feel stupid when I sing
Nobody’s listening to me
Nobody’s listening
