Deep Water continued to subvert expectations this evening, as Lucinda (played by Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was revealed to not really be missing after all.
Lisa (Anna Friel) was eventually told the truth by Kate (Rosalind Eleazar) that Lucinda was in fact just hiding out to help Kate’s marriage get back on track.
As if that strange turn of events wasn’t enough, the final portion of the episode saw Roz (Sinead Keenan) visiting Wayne (Matthew Aubrey).
Under the guise of becoming her new client, Wayne tried to convince Roz to sleep with him for money.
However when she refused, he attempted to blackmail her with the footage he acquired of Roz sleeping with Scott (Gerald Kyd).
When this didn’t go to plan, Wayne attempted to rape Roz but thankfully he was stopped.
Following this already traumatic event Roz attempted to leave; but not before telling Wayne he was a “sick f**k”, and “pathetic”.
Unfortunately, this prompted Wayne to follow her out of the house and hit her over the head with an ash tray, before his silhouette bent down to her body.
It was not clear whether Roz had survived the attack or not, but fans were eager to find out.
Viewers were understandably stunned by this horrific event, and began lashing out on Twitter about what had just happened.
One wrote: “Actually didn’t see that coming #deepwater.”

Another said: “Jesus that was intense #Deepwater.”
With a third chiming in to say: “Noo you can’t end there! Poor Roz! That creepy receptionist is really messed up #DeepWater.”
Many viewers were simply astounded by the attack, and spoke out on the social media to ask: “What on earth just happened on Deep Water!? #shocked #deepwater #itv.”
Viewers have just a couple episodes left to watch of the show – all of which are available on the ITV Hub.
The series is an adaptation of the Windermere novels written by Paula Daly.
Deep Water is a rough translation of the first two books of the franchise.
Speaking about the adaptation of Deep Water, ITV head of drama Polly Hill said: “Anna has cleverly woven together two of Paula’s brilliant novels, to create a wonderful modern and layered series.
“It’s about three very different women on their own incredible and often shocking journeys, whose lives connect at the school gates.
“It’s funny, sexy, truthful and often outrageous, and should have the audience asking what they would do to hold their own family together.”
Deep Water continues Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
