Declan Rice insists he has no intentions of leaving West Ham in the near future after reports Manchester United are weighing up a move for the midfielder.

United have tracked Rice for several months and were close to making an official offer for the England international during the summer.

After establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s stand-out talents, Rice dismissed transfer speculation linking him with a switch to Old Trafford.

‘I signed a five year contract with West Ham last year, which will keep me at club till I’m 24, and for me this is the best place to be right now,’ he said.

‘I am playing for a manager who has given me my chance and played me week in, week out.

‘It’s all talk until something happens – and nothing has – so I’m just focused on West Ham, doing my best and making fans happy.’

United are expected to spend again in January after a dismal start to the Premier League campaign.

With three defeats already, United sit just two points above the relegation zone in 12th.

West Ham would demand a massive fee for Rice were bigger clubs to come knocking and United are believed to be considering a £70million offer for the 20-year-old.
