Declan Rice declares West Ham is 'the best place to be' amid Man Utd interest


Declan Rice has shrugged off interest from Manchester United – insisting West Ham is ‘the best place to be’ for him at this stage of his career.

Rice has been linked with a potential £70million switch to Old Trafford in January as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen amid the Red Devils’ worst start to a season for 30 years.

The 20-year-old started for England in their defeat by the Czech Republic in Prague on Friday owing to an impressive start to the season for the Hammers.

But he insists he is perfectly happy at the London Stadium having established himself as a guaranteed starter under Manuel Pellegrini.

“I signed a five year contract with West Ham last year, which will keep me at club till I’m 24, and for me this is the best place to be right now,” he said.

“I am playing for a manager who has given me my chance and played me week in week out.
