Death Stranding coming to PC summer 2020 from 505 Games

Death Stranding – coming soon-ish to PC

As the PS4 launch fast approaches, Hideo Kojima has announced a rough release date for Death Stranding on the PC.

With the current generation of consoles currently winding down we haven’t heard much about console exclusives for a while, but that’s clearly going to change as soon as we get into next year and the next gen hype really begins.

Especially as it’s becoming increasingly ambiguous as to what constitutes a true exclusive, as many will no doubt be surprised that Death Stranding is planned for any format other than PlayStation 4.

Although Sony themselves publish the console version, the PC edition will be handled by Control and Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night publisher 505 Games.

What is the Death Stranding release date?

There isn’t a specific date yet for the PC version but it will be out on PC sometime next summer, which strictly speaking means June, July, or August.

Sony never usually releases PC versions of its console exclusive but since Death Stranding isn’t a first party game there’s been a bit of wriggle room.

Whether it’ll ever be released on an Xbox console is a different question though and while there’s a chance it might be a timed exclusive that’s never been confirmed, and it’d be at least a year’s wait if it is.

No additional information was offered about the PC version, although more details were promised for ‘a later date’.

The PC version is unlikely to have any new content, but it will presumably have additional graphical options.

Death Stranding will launch on PlayStation 4 on Friday, 8 November. The review embargo is this Friday, 1 November.
