Chris Packham has revealed that a dead fox has been left on his doorstep outside his home in the New Forrest.
The wildlife TV presenter, who is a vocal campaigner against fox hunting and animal cruelty, posted a video on social media claiming he’d found the creature’s corpse lying on his driveway.
Sharing the sick and heartbreaking discovery in a video, Chris said: ‘It seems if you stick up for foxes, you get your comeuppance from people who still think it is a good idea to kill them.’
The camera then panned to the fox’s body lying motionless on the concrete.
‘When I’ve come out into my yard, I found this, a lovely dog fox,’ Chris continued.
It appears that if you oppose the cruelty and illegality of fox hunting and those who club them to death you don’t just get social media abuse . The body of a fox has been dumped at my house . . . @LeagueACS @RSPCA_official The police have been informed pic.twitter.com/z1G8GqFvu3

‘The injuries are consistent with it being snared. There’s a patch of naked skin you can see around the back of the animal here, which is a great shame because this creature was in the prime of its life.’
Chris added: ‘Wouldn’t it be good if we could just stop this fox hunting once and for all?
‘It’s illegal but it carries on and when you campaign against it, unpleasant things like this happen.
‘Surely it’s time to put the whole thing to bed and move on? Move on to a more civilised 21st-century society that we’re living in. That would be good.’
Chris confirmed that he does have CCTV footage on the property which will be reviewed.
He also clarified that the police have no been informed.
The devastating find comes just days after a man battered a fox to death by bashing against a car at a Boxing Day hunt.
