David Tennant has responded to John Barrowman’s idea of a Torchwood film.

The I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! star recently teased he’d be up for joining both David and Billie Piper for a movie of the popular sci-fi series.

When talking to Radio Times, the 52-year-old said he’d spoken to the show’s creator Russell T Davies about a potential Captain Jack Harkness comeback.

And it’s what we all need right now.

Here, the actor confessed: ‘I can’t remember what ceremony it was, but I was speaking to [Davies].

‘We said, “wouldn’t it be great if we could do a Torchwood or Doctor Who movie with [Captain] Jack, David [Tennant] and Billie [Piper]?”‘

Oh yes, it would.

He continued: ‘If I can boast, the three of us, we all call each other The Golden Age…The three of us made such an impact that people still talk about us to this day, which is great!’

David was since quizzed about the Torchwood rumours during an appearance at Galaxy Con in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Joined by his co-star Catherine Tate, the pair was asked whether or not the speculation was true, and while Catherine teased: ‘I think that’s [a rumour] John started himself,’ David sounded more optimistic.

The 48-year-old laughed: ‘It doesn’t mean it’s not true. John might just be doing it for himself, running up and down Cardiff docks.’

This isn’t the first time John has spoken about bringing Torchwood back, as just last year he revealed he’d be more than up for another round of alien adventures.

Chatting to Digital Spy, the presenter said: ‘I have no idea [if it will happen]. I’ve always been vocal about saying I would love to do it.

‘To be honest with you, it’s up to Abigail Gillibrand Chris Chibnall and the BBC to either integrate Jack, if they wanted to, into Doctor Who – or to bring Torchwood back.

‘I think they should, but that’s not my call.’

While we doubt there will be a movie made of the hit series any time soon, we can’t deny that we would love to see the gang finally back together.
