David Neres confessed he is desperate for a Premier League move in the future, with Arsenal and Chelsea both in contention to sign him.

The Ajax attacking midfielder has attracted a lot of interest across the continent after playing a key role in his side’s unexpected run to the Champions League semi-finals.

It’s thought it will take about £40million to prise him away from the Dutch giants, who are expected to cash in on their youthful squad this summer, with Arsenal keen on a summer move and Chelsea eyeing a deal beyond the expiry of their transfer ban.

While Neres was coy over his future, he admitted he would love a move to England’s top flight, inviting a bid from the Premier League’s top sides.

‘Of course the Premier League interests me,’ he told the Liverpool Echo. ‘It’s the best league in the world, and I’ve always wanted to play there. But I leave all that in God’s hands.

‘I try to stay focused on what’s happening on the pitch, and on the competition I’m playing in. I leave those things to my agents to deal with.’

Everton are the other Premier League side in contention to land the Ajax star and perhaps have the other hand with key man Richarlison admitting he has spoken to Neres about a move while on international duty with Brazil.

‘Yeah, I read something about that,’ Richarlison added. ‘I’ve spoken to him about it already. I told him the doors are open for him there, and that he could help us a lot.

‘I hope he comes. He’d be very welcome there. I’ve known him since we played together for Brazil’s U20 side, and he’s a guy I get along with really well. Hopefully I’ll see him there.’
