DAVID LUIZ issued a grovelling apology to sacked Arsenal boss Unai Emery, insisting: We let you down.
Gunners chiefs decided to wield the axe on Friday morning after last night’s humiliating 2-1 home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Luiz, who was forced off injured after just 31 minutes, admitted Arsenal’s flops let Emery down
He tweeted: “Sad day for everybody, especially because we let u down Boss, sorry.
“Thank you and the amazing staff for everything. You are a hard worker, passionate for football and a big example always, doesn’t matter the results.
“Good luck for the future.”
Emiliano Martinez and Dani Ceballos followed suit.
Keeper Martinez added: “Thank you @UnaiEmery_ and Javi (Garcia, goalkeeping coach).

“I’m sorry we let you down, it’s our fault for not performing the right way.
“I’m sure we will meet again (heart emoji).”
On-loan Spain star Ceballos wrote: “Coach, I just wanna thank you for helping me during the time we spent together. I wish you all the best for your future projects.”
The Frankfurt defeat saw Arsenal make it seven successive games without a win, their longest run since 1992.
And Emery is now without a job after 18 months at the helm, with assistant boss Freddie Ljungberg stepping up as interim manager until a new gaffer is found.
Former player Patrick Vieira is a candidate to take charge at the club.
While Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo remains the bookies’ favourite.
