David Bowie movies: Which films was David Bowie in? Did he win any awards?

“I actually was feeling as alienated as that character was. It was a pretty natural performance… a good exhibition of somebody literally falling apart in front of you.

“I was totally insecure with about 10 grams [of cocaine] a day in me. I was stoned out of my mind from beginning to end.”

While he may have had a specific issue he was grappling with during this movie, he went on to star in a number of others, including 1985’s Into the Night opposite Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff Goldblum; 1986’s Labyrinth, directed by Jim Henson; and The Last Temptation of Christ, Martin Scorsese’s biblical epic in which he played Pontius Pilate.

He continued to act throughout the 1990s and 2000s, also cameoing in various movies as himself, with his 2001 cameo in Zoolander gaining him a nomination for MTV Movie Award for Best Cameo.
