David Bellamy dead: How did David Bellamy die? What was his cause of death?


David Bellamy died on Wednesday according to his foundation, The Conservation Foundation. The nature broadcaster rose to fame in the 70’s but later was ridiculed for his controversial views on climate change.

The exact cause of David Bellamy’s death remains unknown. The director of his foundation, the Conservation released an official statement.

David Shreeve said: “Sadly, I have to report that David Bellamy died this morning. David and I worked together on a variety of projects in various places since launching the Conservation Foundation in 1982.

“He was a larger-than-life character who became a very special friend and teacher. He inspired a whole generation with his wide range of interests and enthusiasm, which knew no bounds.

“The Conservation Foundation was very special to him and so today is very sad for all of us.”

David became a household name thanks for his television presenting which began in the 1970’s.

Staring out as a botanist lecturer at Durham University his TV career began after his work  on the Torrey Canyon oil spill gained national attention.

He went on to present television shows, Bellamy On Botany, Bellamy’s Britain, Bellamy’s Europe and Bellamy’s Backyard Safari.

The star previously said he believed his controversial viewers on climate change may have cost him his television career.
