David Attenborough wife: The touching way presenter coped with wife’s death – ‘I was lost'


On BBC One tonight, nature documentary fans will be pleased to hear national treasure David Attenborough is returning to narrate new documentary Seven Worlds, One Planet. The new series will showcase both adorable animals and the brutality of the animal kingdom across all seven continents.

It will also explore the impact of human interference and global warming on animal populations.

Starring adorable fluffy albatross chicks, snub-nosed monkeys and a rather terrifying looking sea spider, Seven Worlds will focus on “unknown, unseen, and unexpected wildlife stories”.

The first episode, shown tonight at 6.15pm, will feature the Antarctic.

The BBC said Seven Worlds One Planet took 1,794 days to shoot and required a team of 1,500 people and 92 separate film shoots.

David and Jane had two children, Robert and Susan who are both in their 50s.

Their daughter is a former primary school headmistress and still lives in the UK.

While their son is a senior lecturer in biological anthropology at the Australian National University in Canberra.

David lived in his families home in Richmond Upon Thames, London, after his wife died 11 years ago.

Seven Worlds, One Planet is on BBC One tonight at 6.15pm
