Dave Grohl and Brandi Carlile cover ‘Let it Be’ as Seattle buskers

Dave Grohl and Brandi Carlile staged an impromptu performance at Seattle’s Pike Place Market, covering the Beatles classic “Let it Be”.

The duo played for between 15 to 20 minutes, according to The Seattle Times, with the Foo Fighters frontman closing the set with a rendition of the band’s track “Times Like These”.

Carlile broadcast several minutes of the performance live to her Facebook page, later posting an image to Instagram with the caption: “Got nostalgic and decided to swing by my old busking spot at Pike Place Market with the twins and Dave Grohl… honestly one of the most surreal moments of my life.”

She has performed with “the twins”, bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroff, for much of the past two decades.

The musician won her first three Grammy Awards in February: Americana Roots Song for “The Joke”, Americana Album, and Americana Roots Performance.

She was nominated for three other awards at this year’s Grammys and performed “The Joke” at the ceremony.
