Danny Miller’s fiancée 'not happy' with Nicola McLean after I'm A Celeb 'game player' jibe

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Nicola McLean, 40, questioned why Danny Miller, 30, spoke out about the extent of his gag reflex as she suggested he could be playing a game. After pointing out his fears on the show, the Emmerdale actor was voted to do the first eating trial of the series.

Despite struggling through the challenge at first, he beat rival Snoochie Shy and won stars for his team.

Sharing her thoughts on the contestant, Nicola said: “I’m not sure whether Danny is already playing a game because I cannot see if you are that sort of… if you gag a lot, if you’re sick, you’ve already been sick twice in the helicopter and swallowed it, why would you carry on saying this?”

“Of course you know you’re gonna get the eating trial.”

A source has now claimed Danny’s wife-to-be Steph isn’t happy with the comments.

They told OK! Magazine: “Steph is really unhappy with Nicola McLean, who is saying he’s got a game plan.

“Danny is the most genuine guy and Nicola doesn’t even know him.

“Steph has really taken it to heart and she finds what Nicola said hurtful because the only reason he’s doing the show is for his family.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Steph for comment.

The former glamour went on to say that while the eating trials are disgusting to do, they are the most memorable.

Danny entered the castle just three weeks after he and Steph welcomed their first baby together, a son named Albert.

Announcing the news on his Instagram at the time, he wrote: “I was lucky enough to find someone who shines bright enough to lead me out of the dark, but I never imagined to be lead to the brightest place imaginable.”

The actor has said that while some may frown upon his decision to go on the show so soon, it was a good choice for his family.

He said: “[Some] people think it’s out of order, but there’s people who work for a less wage who have to go away and provide for their family who work in the Army, who don’t get contact and don’t get to see them for six months.

“This is three weeks of my life and Albert isn’t really going to remember me being there or not.”

Watching Steph take to being a new mum so well also gave Danny the confidence to do the show.

“I can’t speak highly enough of her,” he added.

Steph discussed Danny’s time on the show on Lorraine earlier this week.

She said: “It was a really difficult decision for him to decide whether to do it being so close to the birth.
