Danny Cipriani is suing Lizzie Cundy’s book publishers after she went into detail about their alleged sex life in her new memoir.

The rugby player’s lawyers have filed for a gagging order against the book’s publishers, Soho Friday Media, at the High Court in London, stating that the book breaches both his right to privacy and data protection laws.

In her memoir, titled Tales From The Red Carpet, Lizzie claims to have hooked up with Danny after she split from former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur footballer Jason Cundy in 2010, saying that they would later have sex while his mother was in the house. She even went as far as to rate one particular sexual encounter a ‘nine out of ten on the naughty scale’.

She later alleges that Danny ended up smuggling her into the England rugby team hotel at Pennyhill Park so they could have sex, with her later ‘hiding behind a plant pot’ so the rest of the team did not notice her leaving.

The TV personality also recalled that Danny gave her what she believed to be ‘the greatest kiss of all time’. Writing in her book, Lizzie said: ‘I remember thinking I had never ever been kissed like that in my entire life, and in that first initial moment, I realised what I had been missing all those years.’

However, Danny’s lawyers have stated that he did not consent for this to be published, and he now wants £50,000 worth of damages from Soho Friday Media.

Soho Friday Media have now hit back at the legal action being taken, claiming that Lizzie was ‘extremely nice and complimentary’ toward Danny in the book.

‘Lizzie was extremely nice and complimentary about Danny and is surprised at his reaction as she only told the half of it,’ they said in a statement. ‘We are now dealing with it with our lawyers.’

Lizzie also told Mail Online that she supported what the publishers have said, claiming that she and Danny had ‘great chemistry’ when they were together.

‘I was surprised to hear Danny wants to sue my publishers for saying he was good in bed,’ she stated. ‘I was very complimentary and kind in my book about Danny.

‘I helped him tremendously and he got me through a tough divorce. It’s in the hands of lawyers now who have all the proof but as Danny was such a big part of my life at one time I couldn’t not mention him in my book.’

She later added that she ‘only has nice things to say about him’.
