It’s officially Whamageddon season and comedian Daniel Sloss has turned the fun game into something a little more serious.

But we love him for it.

The rules of the challenge are pretty simple, as players have to go as long as they can without hearing Last Christmas by Wham!.

As soon as they do, whether that be in a department store, supermarket, lift or just on the radio, they’re out.

Any other version of the track, which has been covered by Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and the cast of Glee, is absolutely fine.

The game started on 1 December, and while Daniel might have only lasted two days, he’s made sure he’s turned the occasion into a fundraising event.

Because why the heck not? ‘Tis the season, right?

The 29-year-old has set up a GoFundMe account and has asked his fans to put aside one pound a day for as long as they remain in the game.

With the money built up over the month, the Netflix star has asked fans to donate the small collection to Alice Thompson and Josh Littlejohn’s Social Bite, which tackles homelessness in Scotland.

And despite being kicked out of the competition on the 2nd, Daniel has donated £102 to the cause already.

Writing on the page, he said: ‘Their Sleep In The Park campaigns have raised millions of pounds to help bring an end to homelessness in Scotland and they have inspired a global movement to tackle the problem across the world.

‘So my idea is simple: if you’re playing Whamageddon this year, put aside a pound each day you survive.

‘When you are eliminated, donate that money to Social Bite and help fight homelessness.’

The funnyman added: ‘Not only will you be raising money for an amazing cause, but it raises the stakes when playing the game.

‘An early elimination will only cost you a fiver (min donation on the site), but if you survive until Christmas Eve, then Social Bite get a £24 donation and you get to feel like a great person.’
