Daniel Radcliffe has said his impressive career is basically down to two things: luck and privilege.

We’re sure talent played a part too – but you’ve got to love this guy’s modesty.

As well as the Harry Potter films, Dan has starred in critical hits like Kill Your Darlings, The Woman In Black and Jungle.

‘My entire life and career is built on luck and privilege,’ he said in a new interview.

‘It’s just sort of allowed to be the case,’ he continued. ‘I definitely don’t want people to think I got anywhere because I just worked really hard.

‘Anyone who’s successful in anything, for the most part – even if you did work really hard, which I’m sure people did – there’s still a massive amount of luck involved.

‘I mean, my life is an insane example of a place of luck.’

Dan, 30, added to HuffPo: ‘I got incredibly lucky when I was 10 or 11 and then that afforded me opportunities that I would unquestionably not have been afforded had I not had that stroke of luck.

‘When I was 17, I was in the West End. There’s very few people that go from having never done a play to doing a play in the West End.’

Daniel shot to fame alongside the likes of Emma Watson and Rupert Grint when he was picked to play the title character in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Before that, he played a young David Copperfield in a 1999 BBC TV film of the famous Charles Dickens novel.

His first West End role was playing Alan Strang in the spring 2007 West End revival of Equus.
