Daniel Brocklebank: Coronation Street's Billy in set mishap 'Sure viewers will understand'

Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank suffered a bit of a makeup mishap on screen recently. The 40-year-old actor revealed the tanning disaster was completely his fault and hoped that the viewers at home would understand given the current climate.

Daniel, like the rest of the Corrie cast, now applies his own makeup due to social distancing rules, which meant behind-the-scenes hair and makeup teams were sent home.

The television star joked that he looked like he had just come back from a four-week holiday in one scene, after getting a little carried away with the bronzer.

Continuity errors are inevitable at the moment with actors’ appearances changing during the 12-week break from filming.

Back in March, production on the soap was halted altogether for three months due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Most of the cast returned to work last month with social distancing restrictions continuing on set and a much smaller production team.

Daniel’s co-star Colson J Smith is one of the stars of the show who has undergone a big transformation during lockdown.

The Craig Tinker actor spent his time off work wisely, by concentrating on his health and fitness.

The 21-year-old wowed his 158,000 Instagram followers back in May when he shared a post-run selfie which displayed his new trim physique.

He has continued to display his impressive weight loss on the picture-sharing site after taking up running and changing his eating habits.
