Dani Dyer cried after 'car-crash audition' saw her lose BBC Our Girl part

Love Island star Dani Dyer has opened up about how she “cried” during a car-crash audition for the lead part in BBC ‘s Our Girl.

The 24-year-old, who won the ITV show in 2018 with her ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham, has spilled on the audition that went horribly wrong as the part was handed to Coronation Street’s Michelle Keegan.

Dani revealed her nerves got the better of her and she “didn’t know what to do” during the audition and broke down crying under pressure.

The babe auditioned for the lead role of Georgie Lane in 2015 but sadly for Dani, it didn’t go quite to plan as the part ended up going to stunner Michelle who recently announced she is leaving the show.

Dani Dyer has revealed that she cried during her audition for Our Girl

Prior to her Love Island fame, Dani was testing the waters in the acting world like her father Danny Dyer who is currently starring in EastEnders as Mick Carter.

Speaking to The Mirror about the horror audition, Dani said: “I cried in the room. I was like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing’.

“I was running an hour late and sweating. The nerves get on top of you.

Dani lost the part to Michelle Keegan, who is leaving the show after four series

“It is just this authority looking at you and you want this role so bad.”

Dani continued by revealing that a casting boss got her flustered as she stumbled over her words.

She added: “The speech we had to prepare was deep but she wanted it quite comical. I tried and I just cried.”

The babe was in a few indie films before finding fame on Love Island

Michelle became Georgie after EastEnders babe Lacey Turner, who played Stacey Turner, left the series.

The current series will be Michelle’s last after she announced she wanted to quit so she could spend more time in the UK with her husband TOWIE’s Mark Wright.

Our Girl continues on BBC One on Tuesday at 9pm.
