Dani Ceballos 'asks Real Madrid to recall him from Arsenal' as he eyes transfer elsewhere

Dani Ceballos is looking to cut his loan spell with Arsenal short, according to reports in Spain.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Real Madrid over the summer, has not played since suffering a muscle injury against Vitoria at the start of November.

Despite returning to action around the turn of the year, Ceballos has yet to feature under Mikel Arteta and has reportedly grown frustrated by current situation.

According to Spanish radio programme Carrusel Deportivo ( via AS), the Spanish midfielder has told Arteta that he wants to leave the Emirates Stadium to look for a loan move elsewhere.

It is claimed that he has already contacted Real about returning to the Bernabeu and the Spanish giants are exploring the possibility of terminating the deal.

Ceballos is reportedly eager to secure regular game-time in a bid to increase his chances of making Spain’s Euro 2020 squad and Valencia are claimed to be among a number of teams looking to bring in the playmaker.

He has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season and was left on the bench during Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with London rivals Chelsea.

Following the match, the midfielder hinted that his time in North London could be coming to an end by saying he would “miss” Hector Bellerin’s left-footed goals in a reply to one of the defender’s Instagram posts.

However, Arteta insisted last week that there were no problems with Ceballos and that he remains part of his plans.
