Dancing on Ice's Wes Nelson unveils who he thinks will win show this year

Dancing on Ice 2019 finalist Wes Nelson has dished the dirt on who he thinks will walk away as champion on the ITV show this year.

The latest series of the ITV ice skating show may only be in it’s early stages but Love Island star Wes, who got the chance to dance the Bolero last year, has let slip on who he thinks will come on top.

Speaking to Daily Star Online before the launch of the latest series of Dancing on Ice, Wes, 21, confessed: “My money is on Perry [Kiely] I think.

“He’s a dancer and very acrobatic.”

When asked to offer some words of wisdom to the celebrities taking part in the sixteenth series of Dancing on Ice, Wes kept it short and sweet.

The former nuclear engineer, who is currently dating 2019 Love Island babe and model Arabella Chi, joked: “Don’t fall over.”

He added: “Put the work in and you’ll see the rewards.”

All jokes aside Wes admitted that despite coming second place to professional dancer James Jordan and reaching the show’s grand finale, he wasn’t any good at the beginning.

The hunky Love Island star was paired with professional skater Vanessa Bauer during his time on the show

“I was horrendous at the start,” said Wes who was partnered with professional skater Vanessa Bauer during his time on the show.

“I was the worst and then I became alright.”

The hunky 2018 islander went on to share his plans for the rest of year.

Wes and Love Island plans Samira Mighty, Eyal Booker and Zara McDermott teamed up to create group No Love Lost and competed in X Factor: Celebrity.

Wes admitted that he was “the worst” in the early stages of training despite finishing in second place in the competition

The band impressed Simon Cowell and the rest of the UK with their energetic performances and Wes revealed that despite not winning the competition, it is now over for the group.

“It’s straight back into the music in 2020 with the guys. Still working on that.

“The three songs we did on X Factor all made the top 20 in the UK.

“Music is my passion. Being a nuclear engineer was never my passion.”

Wes starred on X Factor: Celebrity last year alongside former islanders and now band mates Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott and Eyal Booker

He continued: “I’d never been able to showcase my music before.

“It’s the funny thing about this industry, Unless you’re seen doing it on Instagram or on the TV no one has a clue about it.”

We’re certainly looking forward to seeing more of Wes in 2020.

Dancing on Ice continues on ITV on Sunday at 6pm
