Dancing On Ice star Hamish Gaman has pulled out of the latest show after admitting he’s ‘struggling’ in the wake of his drama with Caprice Bourret.
The professional skater, 36, was due to take part in Sunday’s show alongside his fellow pros, but he took to social media on Sunday afternoon to declare that he ‘couldn’t face it’.
The heartfelt post saw him blame an unknown source for leaking ‘untrue stories’ about him and trying to ‘destroy his reputation’ after he ‘parted ways’ with the American model, 48, amid ‘bullying claims.

He wrote: ‘I’m sad to say that I’ve pulled out of appearing on Dancing On Ice tonight.
‘The past three-and-a-half months have been the worst of my life, and I’m struggling. It might look like things have been calming down, but they aren’t.
‘Numerous defamatory articles have been stopped from running in the press over the past few weeks. These untrue stories are continually being fed to the press by a ‘source’.
‘I’ve been told by various people where these articles and source quotes are coming from, and it’s clear that they’re trying to destroy my reputation. It’s become relentless and I feel extremely vulnerable. I’m asking them to stop.’

The sportsman continued: ‘I desperately want to move on from all of this and focus on the skating. I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, and was told by the team who reviewed all the rehearsal footage that I was an ‘exemplary pro’
‘I can only hope that this will all be over soon. I’m so sorry to not be on the ice tonight, but I couldn’t face it. Thank you for your support and kind messages.’

It comes just a week after Hamish delighted fans as he made a sensational return to the show after his recent drama with Caprice.
The skater took to the rink for a stunning performance with Vanessa Bauer after he and Caprice sensationally ‘parted ways’, leading her to quit the show a week later.
Despite accusations from both sides that Caprice and Hamish were ‘bullying’ each other, fans threw their support behind the male skater as they praised his performance.

Hamish and Vanessa took to the rink for a stunning performance to Ludovico Einaudi’s Primavera which left the entire audience and viewers utterly spellbound.
The end of the skate saw the pro share a sweet embrace with his female partner, and host Holly Willoughby described their dance as ‘beautiful and mind-blowing.’
Viewers also rushed to Twitter to praise Hamish’s jaw-dropping performance, with others saying they were thrilled to see he had remained on the show despite his recent drama with Caprice.

Caprice was reportedly left too scared to speak during Dancing on Ice training after Hamish enforced a ‘three strikes and you’re out rule’ if she didn’t do exactly what he said – making her feel like mistakes weren’t allowed.
The mother-of-two quit the show last week to ‘recover and look after herself and her family’ – days after she was assigned a new professional partner to perform with.
Confirming reports, a spokeswoman for Caprice told MailOnline: ‘It’s true that Caprice is no longer participating in Dancing On Ice. It’s been a hard few months and she’s had to keep silent for contractual reasons.
‘Her mental wellbeing has been affected over the last two months and recent stories leaked to the press are not only salacious but extremely hurtful.
‘Now she’s taking some time to recover and look after herself and her family.’

Last week Hamish addressed his fallout with Caprice in a statement on Twitter, where he thanked his followers and fans for their support and paid tribute to his longtime partner Amelia Humfress.
He wrote: ‘Hi Everyone. Thank you so much for your kind messages. I’ve been overwhelmed by your love and support, it’s brought me to tears at times.
‘Honestly, I’m not okay, but I’d like to thank Amelia, my pro family and ITV for doing all that they can to support me.
‘I’m comforted knowing the truth always comes out in the end, and I hope we can focus on the skating again now.’
On Sunday’s show host Holly Willoughby failed to reveal the truth behind Caprice’s sensational exit.
The presenter, 38, simply told fans: ‘We wanted to let you know that unfortunately Caprice will not be taking any further part in the series and sadly Libby won’t be skating tonight because she is unwell but she’ll be back next week.
‘We send them both our best wishes.’
