Dancing on Ice fans think Maura Higgins was undermarked for her debut dance on the ice tonight.

She actually opened the show on Sunday with a routine set to sassy bop Juice by Lizzo.

With Love Island-inspired palm trees and a tropical sheen, she seemed right at home with her partner Alexander Demetriou.

Maura was awarded a total of 22, as judges John Barrowman, Ashley Banjo, Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean awarded her 5.5 points each.

For some fans on Twitter, though, they believe their Irish queen suffered as the judges weren’t being generous with their scores.

‘Very respectable effort,’ one fan wrote. ‘But I reckon that it could have been higher.’

Another added: ‘Maura definitely deserved a higher score! That was brilliant!’

‘Sorry what,’ one fan fumed. ‘Maura deserved way more than 5.5 off all the judges.’

We’re sure that one person inclined to agree would be Maura’s boyfriend (and fellow Love Island alum) Curtis Pritchard, who was spotted in the audience cheering his partner on.

However, we think it’s a miracle that Maura even made it onto the ice at all given that she shared earlier this week that she got a painful injury

Maura’s had a rough time with injuries, previously being concerned that her ribs were broken.

Updating fans on social media, Alexander filmed the 29-year-old looking very sorry for herself as she curled up on the couch in pain.

The professional skater said: ‘Hello Maura’s Instagram. She can’t say hello right now because she’s in pain. It’s like the end of the world.’

Maura added: ‘I think I’ve broken my ribs, and I’m being deadly serious. So we can’t skate.’

Dancing on Ice continues next Sunday on ITV.
