Dancing On Ice: Joe Swash’s pro skater partner Alexandra Schauman is ruled out of Sunday’s show after she’s left injured following a ‘freak fall’

Joe Swash’s professional partner Alexandra Schauman has announced that she won’t be skating on Sunday’s episode of Dancing On Ice after injuring herself in a ‘freak fall’. 

The choreogrpaher, 39, took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share the news and reveal that the former EastEnders star, 38, will be dancing with Alex Murphy instead.

Alexandra insisted that she will be supporting and cheering Joe on from the sidelines as she thanked the Dancing On Ice team for looking after her.

The professional skater shared a selfie of herself and Joe in the iconic ice tunnel where she penned an emotional statement.

Alexandra said: ‘I’m absolutely heartbroken to have to announce that I’m not able to perform with @realjoeswashy this Sunday due to a injury that I endured after a freak fall. 

‘I have missed skating with him terribly this week, he always puts such a big smile on my face. 

‘I wish him and @almurph18 who is stepping in all the best this upcoming Sunday, I will be there rooting for you and cheering you and everyone else on [applause emojis].

To which Alex sweetly replied: ‘Love you to the moon sister! Will make you proud xx #teamjalex.’  

Fans were quick to share their well-wishes for Alexandra as they flocked to the comments section.

It comes after Caprice Bourret and her professional skating partner Hamish Gaman ‘parted ways’ on Sunday’s show with the two allegedly embroiled in a feud, the model has since confirmed that she is now with Oscar Peters.    

Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
