The Dancing on Ice cast will pay an emotional tribute to Phillip Schofield on Sunday night’s show after the host came out as gay on Friday.

The 57-year-old – who has been married to wife Steph for 27 years – later broke down in tears during scenes on This Morning, where he opened up about his sexuality for the first time alongside best friend Holly Willoughby.

An inside source has revealed the Dancing on Ice family will raise a glass to Phillip after being ‘incredibly proud of his bravery’.

‘Phillip is a huge part of the Dancing on Ice team and they want him to know they are there for him 100 percent,’ the source began.

‘The cast are ridiculously proud of him. They will definitely be there to support him at the live show on Sunday and raise a glass to him.’

‘It’s nothing but love and hugs as he is a massive part of the family, so this is major,’ they continued to The Sun.

Phillip admitted he’s been through some ‘very dark moments’ but is proud to come out thanks to the ‘kindness and love’ of Steph and their two daughters, Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24.

After the 57-year-old released his heartfelt statement, a slew of actors, presenters, and ITV stars flooded social media with their messages of support.

Little Britain stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas praised Phillip for his bravery.

David penned: ‘I am sending all my love to @Schofe today.

‘I have always held him in the highest regard, and now have nothing but respect and admiration for him. Let’s hope we are moving towards a world where no-one has to come out anymore, they can just be who they are and celebrate that.’

Matt quipped: ‘I’m not surprised about Philip Schofield. Growing up I remember him presenting with Gordon the Gopher from inside that closet!’

He went on: ‘Joking aside, that cannot have been an easy statement to make. People come out at different stages in their lives. Good luck Philip xxxx’
