Dana White speaks out on Tyson Fury UFC career and makes Anthony Joshua comparison

UFC boss Dana White would be open to Tyson Fury switching codes but believes he will follow the bigger paydays in boxing.

Fury has spent time in the Octagon since his win over Otto Wallin back in September as part of his training for a rematch with Deontay Wilder.

The UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has even talked up a fight with Fury in a mixed martial arts contest, but White is more realistic about his chances of promoting a bout between the two.

He told BT Sport: ‘I’d love to have him over here to fight but why? Why, when he’s got all that money in front of him?

‘I’ll see how it all plays out. But I do like him and I think that he’s one of the best boxers in the world.

‘I saw him say he’s done some kickboxing and he’s been training with [British UFC fighter Darren] Till.

‘It’s like my guys saying they’ve done some boxing. This is what these guys do, it’s what they’ve done for a very long time and I think he has a rough go of it over here.’

White has previously suggested Fury would ‘get smashed’ if he entered a UFC contest, drawing a response from the self-styled ‘Gypsy King’ that he should take on his father John Fury.

But the UFC boss appears to have poured cold water on the war of words between the two, rating him higher than either of the two heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.

‘Right now I see him as one of the best in the world, arguably the best in the world,’ White added.

‘After seeing the Joshua fight, I think it’s [Fury] and Deontay Wilder who are the two best in the world.

‘There are so many big fights for him over the next two or three years in boxing.

‘If you play out the fights with all the top guys right now, there’s a lot of money there.

‘I can see that playing out over two-and-a-half, three years.’
